This is one of many areas in which evidentiary material unearthed by the 9/11 Truth movement is of sufficient magnitude and importance to demand consideration, a process completely (and likely not accidentally) side-stepped by efforts to focus on an alleged Saudi role in the former Official Conspiracy Theory. Here is a short-list:
- Cui Bono?
Of all the possible players, which entity stood to gain the most from a major event that would indelibly equate Muslims with terrorism? Certainly not Muslim countries or entities. But quite possibly Israel...
- Netanyahu -- quotations from the at-the-time former Prime Minister:
"'It's very good... Well, not very good, but it will generate immediate sympathy.' He predicted that the attack would 'strengthen the bond between our two peoples, because we've experienced terror over so many decades, but the United States has now experienced a massive hemorrhaging of terror.'" -- New York Times, September 12, 2001
"We are benefitting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq...[these events] swung American public opinion in our favor." -- comments at a conference at Bar Illan University, originally reported in the Israeli daily Ma'ariv, secondarily by the major Israeli daily Haaretz, April 16, 2008
- The Neocons
These individuals, a large number of whom were involved in 9/11, are covered separately. Suffice it to say that they fall mainly into to groups: dual-nationality Israeli/American citizens, many of whom have expressed publicly and expressly a Zionist orientation and/or a primary allegiance to Israel, and conservative Christians who view Israel as the necessary gateway to the End Times.
- PTech
PTech was an Israeli-connected software company that provided "interoperability" software called PROMIS -- software that could monitor all network-viewable activity going on in a company or agency, with the capability of interacting with that activity. This software was being used by a large number of government agencies, including virtually all the key agencies involved in the events of 9/11 -- the FAA, NORAD, the Army and Air Force, the Secret Service, and the FBI. It was in a position to control, among other capabilities, what was seen (and not seen) on all radar tracking screens.
Although PTech's investors were Saudis, most of the important people involved with it and related software companies were Israelis; also search for "Goff" in this article.

- Dov Zakheim and flight termination systems
Zakheim (a rabbi) was Comptroller of the Pentagon at the time. His company, SPC Corporation, specialized in refurbishing commercial jets and providing the "flight termination" and command transmitter systems that had made remote control of such planes practical.
Many debunkers sneer at the idea of remote controlled passenger jets. However, attention to the significance of the areas of aircraft impact and the precision and speed involved, added to the unlikelihood of the hijackers, is strong evidence for such a scenario. The state of the relevant technology at that time was quite adequate for the task: see Aidan Monaghan's excellent 2008 white paper Plausibility Of 9/11 Aircraft Attacks Generated By GPS-Guided Aircraft Autopilot.
- The "Dancing Israelis"
Five men were reported to be dancing and cheering while filming the collapse of the Twin Towers from New Jersey. They were located and while being arrested by local police, said "We are Israeli. We are not your problem. Your problems are our problems. The Palestinians are the problem." They were taken in for questioning, and found to have maps of the city with certain places highlighted, box cutters (!), $4,700 cash stuffed in a sock, foreign passports, and a van in which bomb-sniffing dogs reacted as if explosives had been present. They were held until November, and then, as part of a deal between the two governments, were released and deported back to Israel. The FBI determined two of them to be Mossad agents, and three of them subsequently appeared on Israeli TV, and -- although they had previously claimed they had no prior knowledge -- said "Our purpose was to document the event." Although the Israeli government was one of the many governments that had warned the U.S. of an impending attack the previous summer, the precision of the men's presence is striking.

- The Art Students and Boxes
The FBI uncovered an Israeli spy ring that was the largest ever found in the United States. Many of them posed as art students, but (apparently through social engineering) got into a wide range of sensitive government facilities.
In a particularly bizarre example, for several years before 911 a group of Israeli art students obtained a construction permit with which they established a presence on the 91st floor (the impact zone) of the World Trade Center. They constructed a crude but effective wooden observation deck which they extend out the opening left by removing a window, and then had themselves photographed by a helicopter. Large stacks of boxes labeled "BB-18" just inside their work area raised speculation about a possible connection to explosives (e.g., BB-18).

The article details the basis for a widespread understanding among both U.S. and foreign intelligence agencies of the truly massive extent of Israeli spying on the U.S. (and other countries), for political, commercial, and military/scientific information -- espionage the Israelis have on occasion falsely promised to stop (i.e., an admission).
As an example (perhaps the most important one), Verizon and AT&T use software developed by Israeli companies, software that has access to virtually all U.S. telecommunications and has long been suspected of having back doors for unauthorized access. The software is remotely maintained (a provision not in the original contract) by potentially unknown people of unknown clearance. The telecom companies are helpless to change this, there being no alternative software available. The similarity to Ptech (above) is remarkable.
- The Warning (?)
Much has been made in the 911 Truth Movement of the fact that the Israeli messaging system Odigo issued a warning about the attacks two hours in advance. However, it isn't clear who sent the message. The company said that only two employees (both in Israel) received it, and the message was apparently not specifically about the Towers. We mention the issue here only to acknowledge its existence, rather than cite it as evidence.
